Jenny Ching, 51, went to the hospital last Wednesday in Needham, Massachusetts with severe cold symptoms.
Ching developed a bacterial infection that caused severe pneumonia and On Friday morning, she died.
“She had the flu and she also developed a bacterial infection,” her husband told WLWT, “It was really severe and caused severe pneumonia.”
Her husband says his wife got the flu shot every season but was unsure if she received it this season.
Born in China, Jenny Ching moved to Needham at age 20. She worked at the New Garden restaurant, a popular Chinese spot in Needham where she worked her entire adult life.
“I can’t believe it because she was so healthy,” said Raymond So, the owner of New Garden. “She was so happy and driven.”
“The community has been unbelievable,” Matt Ching said. “The local school, our friends have just been so supportive. Without them, I don’t know how I would be to help keep the boys going.”
