It’s summertime and you’re all set to take your summer vacation beach trip. But before you go, you need to be prepared. Don’t let nothing get in the way of having a great time with family and friends. Make your trip the best ever by following these beach tips below.

  1. Use baby powder to get rid of sand. It removes moisture from your skin and hair, making it easier for sand to fall off.
  2. Use an empty pill container to keep money, hair ties and jewelry organized in your beach bag.
  3. Bring a pop-up beach tentt or shelterfor when your little ones need some time out of the sun to rest. Also great to eat in to keep food away from the sand.
  4. Freeze juice cartons before you head to the beach for delicious slushies as they start to thaw in the sun.
  5. Place cupcake liners over the top of your drinks. To keep bugs and sand out of your drink.
  6. No alcohol allowed? Clean out an old sunscreen bottle and fill it with your adult beverage of choice.
  7. Apply a thick layer of sunscreen all over your body before leaving home. Apply often to keep the harmful UV rays from damaging your skin.
  8. If you’re potty training your baby, be sure to bring a potty chair and plenty of swim diapers.
  9. Visit the NOAA website and look‐up your area to see what time high and low tides will be. Being aware if the tide is coming in or going out will help you decide where to set up for the day.
  10. Bring children a change of clothes to change into before you leave. Lay out your kids wet swimsuits to dry in the sun before packing them away.
  11. Bring plastic baggies to store your phone in. This will keep your phone away from water and sand but still usable through the plastic.
  12. Don’t let bug bites ruin your beach fun. Be sure to pack the bug spray because even at the beach bugs tend to sneak up on you.
  13. Bring baby wipes! Trust me, you’ll need them. Whether it’s for cleaning up sticky fingers, wiping runny noses or cleaning up an accident, wipes always come in handy.
  14. Bring plenty of water to drink. Being at the beach makes you really thirsty and it’s very important to stay hydrated while in the sun. Load up an ice chest with plenty to drink.
