19-year-old James Eric Davis Jr. fatally shot his parents Friday morning on campus shortly after they picked him up from a hospital, where police had sent him due to behaving erratically, campus police Chief Bill Yeagley said Saturday.
The student’s parents drove down from the Chicago area to the Mount Pleasant campus early Friday after police called his mother to tell her about her son. Davis Jr. went to a hospital and was released Friday morning when his parents took him back to Central Michigan to pack his things to head back home, the police chief said.
“We are not at all done with this investigation,” Yeagley said at a news conference Saturday morning.
It was revealed by the police that the gun used by Davis Jr.used to kill his parents was registered to his father.
