5 Ways To Remove Makeup With Things You Already Have

One of the most important rules to wearing makeup is ALWAYS remove it before going to bed. I know sometimes removing your makeup is the last thing from your mind — your too tired, I’ll just do it in the morning, one night wont hurt. While all these reasons seem logical at the time, going to bed even one night with makeup on your face can cause serious damage to your skin. Clogged pores, premature aging and hello… ZITS! I listed below ways you can remove your makeup with things you already have on hand, so no more excuses — keep your face happy, clean and makeup free.

One of the best ways to remove makeup off your face with ease is by using oils. Coconut oil, Almond oil, Olive oil, Jojoba oil and Avocado oil are great oils to use to break down the makeup on your face, cleanse your skin and leave it feeling softer and younger than ever. The best thing about using a oil to remove your makeup is it will get rid of all sorts of makeup — even waterproof mascara. Simply rub your oil of choice into your skin and wipe away all makeup with a warm face cloth.

Raw Honey

Yep, this delicious treat is for more than just consuming — it’s an amazing skin treatment too! Honeys natural antibacterial properties makes for a great cleanser for your skin. If you have trouble with acne this is a perfect solution for you, this powerful alternative to cleanser removes dead skin cells on your face and leaves it feeling soft and smooth. Take raw honey, rub it into your face and allow to sit for 10 minutes then rinse with warm water. Take a warm facial cloth to get rid of any left over honey and then rinse with cold water to close your pores.

Baby Wipes

Forget those store bought makeup remover wipes that can get pricey when using them everyday, instead use baby wipes. Baby wipes are cheaper than makeup remover wipes and if you have a baby or toddler — you probably have them already on hand. My favorite brand for my face are Huggies and Equate from Wal-Mart (pictured above) which are super affordable and work perfectly to get rid of all makeup including stubborn eye makeup.

If you need an easy way to remove your eye makeup — use Vaseline. Vaseline is something that everyone has in their home and all you need to do is take Vaseline and a cotton ball to wipe away all your eye makeup, and rinse after. Vaseline is also said to help promote lash growth too. You could also use Vaseline as a nighttime face moisturizer for softer more hydrated skin. After washed, rub Vaseline all over your face at night then rinse off in the morning.

You have heard of the old stories about queens bathing in milk baths, right? that’s because milk does wonders for your skin. The fat and proteins in milk help to hydrate the skin and improve its ability to retain moisture. Don’t get suckered into buying expensive facial milks just grab some whole milk from your fridge rub it into your face and rinse away with a warm washcloth.
