After Spotify made the announcement to remove R Kelly from all playlists, 50 Cent came in to defend the singer. “Spotify is wrong for what it is doing to artists like R Kelly and XXXtentacion,” the rapper wrote on Twitter.

The 51-year-old artist was removed as part of Spotify’s new “Hate Content & Hateful Conduct” policy, since been accused of sexual assault on multiple occasions.

The rapper XXXTentacion is facing charges in Florida for aggravated battery of a pregnant woman, his music will also be removed from the streaming service. Both R Kelly and XXXTentaciondeny deny the claims.

R Kelly responded to the tweet from 50 cent saying,”Thanks for the support fam! No weapon formed.”

Aishah White, a spokeswoman for XXXTentacion, told the New York Times via email: “I don’t have a comment, just a question. Will Spotify remove all the artists listed below from playlists?”

She included the names of several musicians who have also faced allegations of sexual misconduct or violence over the years.
