Bird Box was one of the best horror films to hit Netflix and I’m sure whoever has watched it, totally agrees — if not, what is wrong with you? just kidding. One thing that made many go a little crazy is how they never actually showed the mysterious, life taking creatures once throughout the film, not even at the end!
The creatures made humans instantly commit suicide in the most bizarre ways just by looking into their eyes. If you watched the entire scary film patiently awaiting to see these evil creatures, then you may have walked away pretty frustrated
You may not of got to see the creatures for yourself but a deleted scene actually showed their face. During an interview with Bloody Disgusting, the cast and crew of the film revealed that the monsters almost made it into the film, but last-minute the scene got cut.
Thankfully Bullock explained in the interview exactly how the monster looked:
“It was a green man with a horrific baby face. It was snake-like, and I was like, ‘I don’t want to see it when it first happens. Just bring it into the room. We’ll shoot the scene.’ I turn and he’s like [growling at me.] It’s making me laugh. It was just a long fat baby.”
Well, we definitely wasn’t expecting a baby face — I can see why they made the cut, it kept the movie even more suspenseful not seeing the terrifying creatures face. The film was directed by Susanne Bier, and Heisserer adapted the story from Josh Malerman’s bestselling novel of the same name.
