A Gossip Girl Reboot Could Be Happening

Posted by

Hey, Upper East Siders, I have the biggest news ever — Gossip Girl could possibly be making a comeback! According to CW President Mark Pedowitz, we could be once again watching the scandalous lives of Manhattan’s elite. During the Television Critics Association Winter press tour, Pedowitz talked about the possibility of bringing the hit show back again. “There’s a discussion, but I don’t know if we’re there yet,” he told reporters. “I don’t know what it would be. A lot is up to Warner Bros. and {exec producers} Josh and Steph ’cause you don’t want to do anything without them.”

The hit CW show first aired in 2007 and went on to run for six seasons before coming to an end in 2012. The show is  still one of the best teen dramas to date. It would be fun to see what the Waldorfs and van der Woodsens are up to in 2019. However, if the show happens to make a comeback, it would likely be a new cast, given Badgley has moved on to play in Netflix’s You. The new show could follow the younger generation of Waldorfs and van der Woodsens living in the upper east side.

Don’t get your hopes up too high, Schwartz  told E! News in the past  “the Internet has changed” since Gossip Girl first aired. “The world has become Gossip Girl now . . . Now literally everyone is Gossip Girl.”
