Amy Schumer shared some personal information about her husband, Chris Fisher in her new Netflix special Amy Schumer: Growing. The comedian opened up about her husband having ‘Autism Spectrum Disorder’. Entertainment Weekly got to preview the show, and in it, Schumer dishes on the details.
“I knew from the beginning that my husband’s brain was a little different than mine. My husband was diagnosed with what used to be called Asperger’s. He has autism spectrum disorder. He’s on the spectrum. And there were some signs early on.”
The actress talked about when she first realized something was different about her husband. She said early on in their relationship the two of them were walking together when Schumer fell down. Lying on the ground she noticed Chris standing there frozen and in no state of being able to help her in any way.
“He kind of froze and became a lighthouse, opening and closing his mouth,” she recalled.

I am more than grateful to have found such an amazing partner and best friend. I’m shocked. I didn’t think this love was out there for me. This special is dedicated to my friend @clubsodakenny son Doug and to our new baby who will be joining us very very soon.
Amy made it clear that she loves her man for who he is — and she is happy to share the news with people because it is a part of him. One specific thing Amy loves about her man? his honesty and the fact that “he can’t lie.”
Amy and Chris will welcome their first child sometime in the spring. Check out Schumer’s second Netflix special to find out more about her marriage life.
