Ariana Grande’s vegan fans are not happy about the singers new “Cloud Macchiato” drink that was recently released at Starbucks — why? because it isn’t vegan-friendly. The singer and Starbucks collaborated for the new drink that dropped last week. The coffee drink is made with espresso and vanilla syrup, then topped with foam and a caramel drizzle.
Grande told Mirror back in 2013 that she follows a vegan diet because “I love animals more than I love most people.” Although the 25-year-old encouraged her followers to try the soy version of the drink, many were quick to point out that the milk wasn’t the only non-vegan ingredient.
The “cloud powder” that is in the foam to give it it’s cloud-like texture contains egg white powder, and the caramel drizzle contains milk products. Many expressed their disappointment on social, while some defended the “Thank u, next” singer, saying she could of been unaware certain products were not vegan — or she could not be a vegan anymore.
