Chrissy Teigen gave her thoughts on the recent allegations against R. Kelly from the Lifetime series, Surviving R. Kelly. Teigen took to Twitter to say how she is in “awe of the strength” from the victims involved. Chrissy was also proud of her husband John Legend, who made an appearance in the docuseries and spoke about Kelly’s alleged wrongdoings. Legend was one of the few musicians that worked alongside R.Kelly to openly talk negatively about him on camera.
Because of R.Kelly’s status in the industry, Dream Hampton, the producer, author, and filmmaker of the series, said to reporters from the Detroit Free Press that it was difficult to get celebrities and others to come forward in the case, “that makes John Legend even more of a hero for me,” Hampton said. John says his decision was an easy one because he couldn’t defend a “serial child rapist.”
“Proud of john but so in awe of the strength and courage of the women involved, who survived and told their stories. I wish I could be as eloquent as John but – f*ck R Kelly. #MuteRKelly,” Chrissy wrote in a tweet.
