Demi Lovato slammed Instagram for a fat-shaming ad. The singer took to her social to share the sponsored Game of Sultans post that was very disrespectful. The questionable ad shows two young children characters, one who has the label under here ‘obese’ and the other is labeled as ‘pretty.’
When Demi saw the demeaning ad she took to her Instagram Story to bring attention to it, saying that anyone can be ‘Pretty’ no matter their weight.
Lovato wrote, “Why is this fat shaming bulls**t on my feed? So many things wrong with this ad. 1. You can be ‘pretty’ at any weight. This is absolutely harmful to anyone who is easily influenced by societal pressures put on us from the diet culture to constantly be losing weight in a world that teaches us to equate our value and worth with the way we look and especially anyone in recovery from an eating disorder.”
The “Sorry” singer asked that Instagram remove the negative message from her and everyone else’s feed and they done just that.
A rep for the social media company told TMZ that the ad was approved by mistake, “We reviewed it again and removed it from future delivery in people’s feeds,” the rep said.
