Netflix has shockingly decided to cancel Iron Fist after only 2 seasons. The Marvel superhero series premiered its second season in September, which ended in Colleen Wing gaining the iron fist — an ending assumed would be more explained in season 3, but obviously the massive cliffhanger wasn’t enough to keep things going.
Iron Fist will be the first Marvel show to get cut from the streaming service. “Marvel’s Iron Fist will not return for a third season on Netflix,” Netflix and Marvel said in a joint statement to Deadline on October 12th. “Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is proud of the series and grateful for all of the hard work from our incredible cast, crew and showrunners. We’re thankful to the fans who have watched these two seasons, and for the partnership we’ve shared on this series. While the series on Netflix has ended, the immortal Iron Fist will live on.”
The Marvel superhero series followed billionaire Danny Rand after his return from many years of being presumed dead. Danny tried to gain back his old friends and life all while learning how to properly use his superhero abilities that help him fight off bad guys in NYC.
Iron Fist may be cancelled, but you can still enjoy some kick-butt action real soon! The third season premier of Daredevil will be debuted on October 19th.
