HBO Max, the new streaming network from WarnerMedia will be releasing a Gossip Girl reboot.
According to TVLine, the 10-episode reboot will follow a new group of Manhattan’s elite rich kids. The original creators of the show, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage will be the executive producers. Original executive producer Joshua Safran is executive producing and writing the reboot.
No news on whether or not the original cast will join the reboot. Earlier in the year, while on set of her ABC comedy series Single Parents, Leighton Meester said she had not been asked about a reboot.
“No one’s ever asked me,” Meester told E! News about a return to Gossip Girl earlier in 2019. “No one’s ever talked to me about it except for in interviews and I always say the same: I never say never, so I don’t know. No one’s sent me that information, it’s coming from you.”
Gossip Girl first aired in 2007 on The CW and remained on the air for six seasons, ending in 2012.
