Kim just did a video for Vogue and talked about some of her looks from the past. And when it came to the “couch dress” she gave her reason behind wearing it.

“I was very pregnant, very puffy and bloated, and I was like, ‘Oh god, the first time I go I’m gonna be huge.'”

Kim said she didn’t feel as though anyone wanted her to be there. “I know no one really wanted me there at the time. But then I get there and I’m sitting at this table, and it was like, every designer that I’ve ever dreamed of was there.”

As for the floral dress, Kim said she and designer Riccardo Tisci chose a “really stretchy fabric” and then made the dress in a the floral version she wore and a black one.

“I was like, ‘I think I should just do the black version,'” she said.

“Riccardo was like, “”No, come on, we have to do the floral.” Riccardo had said afterwards, like, “What do you give a woman when she’s pregnant? You send her flowers.””

“And so I said, ‘Okay, floral it is. And on the car ride there, I remember Kanye saying, ‘You look so beautiful, I’m so happy for you.'”

“And then I was crying the whole way home. Because I just couldn’t believe it,” she recalled. “There were all these memes about me and this couch.”

Now Kim loves the look despite the backlash it recieved. “Now, I love it. Now, it’s like, sick. I look back and I’m like, “Wow, they had the vision. This is sick.”

While she may have recieved criticism, she recalls the Olsen Twins approving of her floral look. “I just remember the Olsen twins came up to me and loved my outfit and gloves. And so none of the critics mattered, because the Olsen twins approved, and I loved it.”
