Lamar Odom amongst 3 other players have been kicked from the Big3 League which features several previous NBA players.
Odom was hopeful he would be able to make an Basketball comeback.
That dream was cut short due to underperforming during game.
The 2x NBA champion, NBA career was destroyed due to drug addiction.
Odom was one of four former NBA players who were officially “deactivated” for the season.
The Big3 is 3-on-3 league created by Ice Cube.
Those close to the situation confirm Odom, Jermaine O’Neal, Bonzi Wells and Baron Davis were all dismissed from the league.
Odom last played in the NBA during the 2012-13 season. That season he averaged 4 ppg & 5.9 rebounds on 39% shooting.
His team then was the L.A. Clippers, by the year 2015 he was hospitalized after being found unresponsive at a Las Vegas brothel after an overdose.
Only after one game the Big3 League deactivated him.
The primary reason given was:
“maximize competition, protect the health of the players, and to raise the level of the professionalism of the Big3.”
The Big3 league was created to give previous NBA players a chance to prove they still can compete at a competitive level.
Currently Joe Johnson leads the charge averaging 24+ ppg.
