The Los Angeles Lakers have officially decided it will be more beneficial to their team for LeBron James not to play in the next six games.
The news comes this weekend that it would be better for him to rest and fully heal his groin before playing again.
Magic Johnson decided to release a statement via Spectrum SportsNet.
“After consulting with our team doctors and medical staff, we have decided to hold LeBron out of games for the remainder of the season,” Johnson said. “This decision will allow his groin to fully heal, and is best for the future success of both LeBron and the Lakers.”
James was cleared to play after missing 17 games due to a groin injury that lasted until January.
The star forward ends his season averaging 27.4 points, 8.5 rebounds and 8.3 assists in 55 games.
