After being in prison for nearly five months, Meek Mill has been released.
The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ordered an immediate release for Mill earlier in the day, directing the judge to release him on “unsecured bail.” The rapper attended a Sixers vs. Heat game on Tuesday evening.
“I’d like to thank God, my family, my friends, my attorneys, my team at Roc Nation including JAY-Z, Desiree Perez, my good friend Michael Rubin, my fans, The Pennsylvania Supreme Court and all my public advocates for their love, support and encouragement during this difficult time,” Meek Mill said in a statement. “While the past five months have been a nightmare, the prayers, visits, calls, letters and rallies have helped me stay positive.”
Mill got his controversial sentence two to four years prison sentence back in November for violating his probation for his 2008 gun and drug case.
There were many celebrities who stood behind Mill during his prison sentence such as, Jay-Z and Beyonce. Kevin Hart showed some love to the newly free’d rapper via Instagram of him, and Mill side by side during the NBA game.
