Houston Rockets received some bad news about one of their core players P.J. Tucker not known for prolific scoring or rebounds he is a hard nosed defender who put up 7.3 ppg, 5.8 rebounds and 1.6 steals for the Rockets.
The forward was playing with team USA and injured his ankle and was unable to continue playing with the team.
Team USA is now down to their last 14 players and are set to head to Australia.
“I twisted it in a game last Friday and again in practice and I know they’re about to go to Australia,” Tucker said to Houston’s KRIV-TV. “I didn’t want to be hobbling and then come back in camp. It just made sense.”
The forward noticed a pattern in his injured ankle and decided he could no longer continue.
Team USA will leave for Australia on Saturday for three games.
