Mac Miller, the 26-year-old rapper who was recently dating Ariana Grande for two years, has died after an apparent overdose. Mac was found Friday at around noon at his San Fernando Valley home, according to TMZ, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities were alerted by a male friend of Miller’s who placed a 911 call from the rappers home.
According to TMZ, Miller had been having issues with substance abuse — even more so following his breakup with Ariana Grande.
Mac Miller, real name Malcolm James McCormick, was arrested back in May for driving under the influence and a hit and run, after he crashed his car into a utility pole. Miller fled the scene on foot, but later confessed to the police at his home.
“I made a stupid mistake,” he told Beats 1 host Zane Lowe on July 23. “I’m a human being. Like, drove home drunk. But it was the best thing that could have happened. … I needed that. I needed to run into that light pole and literally, like, have the whole thing stop.”
“Pls take care of yourself” Grande, who is now engaged to Pete Davidson tweeted out to her ex following his arrest
