Selena Gomez teams up with Julia Michaels for her very first release of 2019 to sing about anxiety, and in the catchy song, Selena opens about her past relationships and more. “Anxiety” was released on Jan. 24 and it talks about the struggles of anxiety and how it affects their personal life, relationships, and themselves emotionally. Gomez shared a picture to her Instagram that was taken after her 2017 American Music Awards performance and wrote in the caption, “My sweet soul sister. Julia you have been a huge part of my life. You have taught me how to have courage when I have self doubt.”

She went on to say, “This song is extremely close to my heart as I’ve experienced anxiety and know a lot of my friends do too. You’re never alone if you feel this way. The message is much needed and I really hope you guys like it!”
Selena has been very open about her struggles with anxiety and depression — the “Wolves” singer sought out treatment in October 2018, after having a severe panic attack. She left rehab in November and has since been seen looking happy, often hanging out with friends.
Gomez took a long break from Instagram in September 2018, but recently returned to write to her fans,”It’s been awhile since you have heard from me, but I wanted to wish everyone a happy new year and to thank you for your love and support. Last year was definitely a year of self-reflection, challenges and growth. It’s always those challenges which show you who you are and what you are capable of overcoming. Trust me, it’s not easy, but I am proud of the person I am becoming and look forward to the year ahead. Love you all.”
